Job Candidate Success Story

CareerSource Tampa Bay Staff

"My name is Rachel Hamilton. I unfortunately lost my job in October 2014. With the assistance of the Director Ms. Michelle Tripp, I [went] to the CareerSource Brandon location on December 17. It was a breath of fresh air. Everyone was kind, helpful and welcoming from the very start. After only being in the building for 30 minutes, I got an email from Business Services OJT Recruiter Ms. Linda Parham. She notified me of a job interview that was in 2 days. I was blown away. I really felt like Ms. Parham and my Career Counselor, Ms. Keevia Houston, were actually trying to help find employment. Both of them diligently followed up with me and were constantly being encouraging and supportive. They are both the nicest, most cheerful and helpful people that I have had the pleasure of knowing. Mr. Julius Collie and [staff] in the computer lab are extremely wonderful and helpful people as well. Mr. Collie's courses are very informative and enjoyable and he helped me update and perfect my professional resume. After about 6 weeks of interviews, meetings, and email assignments, I have successful attained my dream job. I will be the Marketing Coordinator at Rowe Architects in downtown Tampa. I hope to become a professional architect in the future and this is the first step in getting into that field. Ms. Parham was a key player in helping me get this job. She assisted me with job leads, followed up with me, educated employers about the OJT program, and was a great support. I will start my exciting new job on February 2, 2015. I am forever grateful for the wonderful people at CareerSource of Tampa Bay, Brandon location. Thank you very much for your assistance and encouragement." - Rachel Hamilton, Job Candidate Customer
