If you are out of school, between the ages of 16-24, a Hillsborough County resident, and motivated to start a training program or gain hands-on experience, we are here to provide the support and resources to get you started.

WIOA Youth Overview

Ready to Take the First Step?

If you are out-of-school, between the ages of 16-24 and motivated to start your pathway to your future career, we are here to help. Please watch our virtual information session and then complete the program pre-screen.

Once completed, you will be assigned to a WIOA Youth Career Coach who will contact you about your next steps within two business days. If you do not see an email in your inbox, please be sure to check your spam/junk folders. To begin the pre-screen, please complete the pre-screen linked above.

  • Must be a Hillsborough County resident
  • Low Income &
    • Basic Skills Deficient
    • English Language Learner
    • Resides in High Poverty Area
  • Ages 16-25 Year Old with Primary Barrier:
    • High School Dropout
    • Offender
    • Homeless/Runaway
    • Pregnant/Parenting
    • Foster
    • Disabled

Virtual Information Sessions for Youth 16-24 Years of Age

In response to COVID-19, CareerSource Tampa Bay’s (CSTB) Young Talent of Tampa Bay program is holding live virtual informational sessions. The live virtual sessions will be held for youth interested in gaining career advice, practical work experience, and other career guidance.

BLS Announces New Release on College Enrollment and Work Activity of Recent High School and College Graduates — 2020.  In October 2020, 62.7 percent of 2020 high school graduates ages 16 to 24 were enrolled in colleges or universities, down from 66.2 percent in the prior year, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported.  Among 20- to 29-year-olds who received a bachelor’s degree in 2020, 67.3 percent were employed, down from 76.0 percent in 2019.  These changes reflect the effect of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.  To view the press release, visit:  https://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/hsgec.pdf.
