~ Meeting will help connect employers in Hillsborough County to work-based learning opportunities ~

TAMPA, FL – CareerSource Tampa Bay (CSTB) will be hosting an in-person Information Session with Hillsborough County employers on Wednesday, August 3rd, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at CSTB’s Tampa Center, located at 9215 North Florida Ave, Tampa, FL 33612, in Room #3.

Employers from every industry are invited to learn about these opportunities to help their businesses grow. CSTB has the following programs and services available:

  • On-the-Job Training – with a focus to help improve retention and upskill our workforce, CSTB reimburses 50 to 75 percent of new employees’ salaries for up to six months.
  • Paid Work Experience – designed to connect young adults to employers, with a focus on skill development for in-demand occupations. Employers will have the opportunity to employ motivated, young talent – at NO COST to the company.
    • CSTB will be the employer of record and compensate the intern at a pay rate of $13 per hour.
    • The intern will be able to work less than 30 hours per week for 8-12 weeks.
  • Incumbent Worker Training – designed to meet the need of an employer or group of employers to retain a skilled workforce, avert layoffs, and increase both participants’ and companies’ competitiveness. CSTB reimburses 50 to 90 percent of the costs associated with the training.
  • ACE or Apprenticeship to Career Empowerment Pre-Apprentice Program – ACE is designed to empower young adults to take control of their futures by providing them an opportunity to learn industry-specific skills and credentials while earning income and real-world work experience.

This Information Session is open to all employers in Hillsborough County.

“The CSTB On the Job Training (OJT) program is great for both employers and eligible job seekers,” says Angela Lyons, CSTB Business Services Lead. “Employers can hire and train eligible job seekers within their workforce and by the end of the OJT program, the company can be reimbursed 50 to 75 percent. This program not only provides reimbursable training funds to the employers, but it also helps retain employees that are vital to helping businesses grow!”
