Take part in our Tampa Bay Summer Hires Program!

 

Employers are invited to learn about the success CSTB experienced during past summer programs, understand how to participate as an employer and learn how employers play a vital role in building the future talent pipeline for young adults, 16 to 24 years of age.

“This program would not be able to succeed without the support of our business community,” said Leondra Foster, Tampa Bay Summer Hires Director. “Our business community has been key to our success by meeting businesses’ short term workforce needs, improving our regional talent pipelines and expanding workplace learning opportunities through our paid work experience model.”

Tampa Bay Summer Hires is especially looking for employers with regionally targeted industries and in-demand jobs which includes:

  • Manufacturing/Construction/ Building Trades
  • Hospitality/Tourism
  • Transportation
  • Logistics
  • Retail
  • Financial Shared Services
  • Healthcare
  • Information Technology

 

 


 

Tampa Bay Summer Hires plans on serving up to 800 youth in 2023. Since the implementation of our inaugural year in 2019, we’ve experienced tremendous success. To date, serving more than 1,800 youth with 130 employers participating in the program.

During the summer of 2021, CSTB assisted with the support of 112 local employers filled more than 900 positions for young adults to work in various industries. During 2021 CSTB received 2,460 applications for the summer jobs program. The breakdown of employers who participated in 2021 included 78 for profit businesses, 33 non-profit and 1 governmental agency.

The Tampa Bay Summer Hires program and CareerSource Tampa Bay is the agency of record for young adults participating the program. CSTB handles the payroll, and even provides a career counselor to work with program participants. In 2023, CSTB plans to pay participants $15 per hour. In return, Employers get a paid summer intern for 8-weeks to help with their business.

This event is open to any Hillsborough County business owners, human resource staff, guidance counselors, business service providers, and anyone interested in learning more about the CSTB Tampa Bay Summer Hires program.
