Migrant and Seasonal Farm Workers

Florida’s Commerce assists CareerSource Tampa Bay in operating an outreach and employment program for migrant and seasonal farmworkers in accordance with 20 CFR 653.

Migrant CSTB staff and partners educate Florida farmworkers about available services. The State Monitor Advocate conducts on-site quality assurance visits to career centers to ensure the provision of an equitable level of services to the farmworker community.

Targeted employment services, including outreach, are provided to migrant and seasonal farm workers under the Wagner-Peyser program.

 

Services provided to the Migrant and Seasonal Farm Workers through CSTB include:

  • Job search assistance and placement
  • Registration assistance
  • Testing
  • Counseling
  • Training opportunities
  • Referrals to supportive services
  • Job development
  • Referrals to other organizations that serve migrant and seasonal farm workers
  • Complaint resolution
  • Farmworker rights and labor law information
  • Outreach at work areas, housing, or other community areas
