Veterans interested in participating can register and participate in the hiring event by going to the following website: https://www.careersourcetampabay.com/jobfair

Veterans and their families bring dedication, a special set of skills and diversity to Florida’s workforce. CareerSource Tampa Bay is excited to serve those who have served our country. Through Paychecks for Patriots, companies will be connected with talented, well-trained veterans to join their team.

To celebrate Veterans Day, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the Florida National Guard, the Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs and participating Florida employers partnered with CareerSource Florida regions to connect veterans with great careers in their communities.

“We owe so much to our veterans and it’s wonderful that we can offer these hiring events to help those who’ve given so much for our country,” said CSTB CEO John Flanagan. “Last year Paychecks for Patriots event was hugely successful and we’re hoping this year will meet or exceed our numbers. If you know a veteran who is looking to get into the workforce or looking for a new career, we hope you let them know about this wonderful hiring event.

” This statewide hiring fair bridges the gap between Florida veteran job seekers and Florida’s businesses. During the event, CareerSource Tampa Bay will match veterans with employers who value the skills, knowledge and attributes veterans attain during military service. This year’s event will look different than usual, but CareerSource Tampa Bay remains committed to using technology to still allow for service members and veterans to come together with local businesses.

“We are pleased to continue to support Paychecks for Patriots on this Veteran hiring event and are thrilled to continue to support our veterans and their families find careers in the private sector,” said Dan Schneckenburger, Director, Business Services. “We are excited to be able to host this year’s event through a virtual platform as our community rebounds from the COVID-19 shutdowns.”

“This gift honors the resolve and sacrifice of our military community as well as the challenges they face by making sure they and their families have the support they need,” USAA President and CEO Wayne Peacock said. “Caring for military families is our passion, whether it’s through serving our members or supporting military-related causes. We hope this contribution provides vital, long-lasting support to the military community at a time when they are essential to our nation’s recovery efforts.”

Veterans or their family members interested in pursuing career opportunities in Florida who were unable to attend a Paychecks for Patriots hiring event can view and apply for available positions online at www.employflorida.com. Additionally, a special employment portal for Florida veterans is also available at veterans.employflorida.com with positions and resources geared towards veterans.
