“We have modified our Summer Job Connection program paid-work-experience program to now include eight-weeks, increased the rate of pay to $12.00 per hour, and increased hours per week to 30,” said Jennifer Wilson, CSTB’s Youth Director. “These changes will provide an enriched experience for our young adults during their summer internship while making an impact at the businesses they are working at this summer!”

Youth will also be expected to attend a mandatory in-person, Youth Summit in June 2021.

Since launching in 2019, the SJC program has provided more than 1,000 low-income and disadvantaged youth with summer work experience and access to career exploration activities, work readiness skills, and financial literacy training. The SJC program is still accepting applications from Businesses in Hillsborough County that would like to mentor youth and participate in the program this summer.
