CareerSource Tampa Bay to Host Coffee & Careers 2.0 Job Preparation Event

~ A community event preparing people for the job search ~

TAMPA, FL – CareerSource Tampa Bay (CSTB) and the Caribbean-American National Development Organization (CANDO) will be co-sponsoring Coffee & Careers 2.0 on Thursday, April 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at CSTB’s Tampa Center located at 9215 N. Florida Avenue, Suite 101, Tampa, FL 33612.

This job preparation event is the second iteration of the Coffee & Careers event series. The first event saw 70 attendees who took advantage of resume consultations, virtual reality career exploration, and complimentary headshots.

Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee courtesy of CANDO while engaging with CSTB career coaches for free resume evaluations. This is an open house event where CSTB is inviting job seekers to come in and meet with staff and attend training while enjoying a cup of coffee.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with CareerSource for this impactful event,” stated Mr. Francis Joseph, Executive Director for CANDO. “Together, we aim to connect job seekers with opportunities while fostering community development and empowerment.”

Other services being made available that day include an Employability Skills Training Workshop (LinkedIn: Getting Started & Beyond at 1:30 p.m.), an opportunity to explore different careers via virtual reality, and the chance to have a headshot made for social media or other purposes by the CSTB Marketing Team.

Coffee & Careers 2.0 is in an excellent position on the calendar,” says Paul Casebolt, CSTB’s One Stop Operator. “In the weeks following the event, there will be at least two career fairs and a single employer hiring event sponsored by CSTB. Having a freshly reviewed, updated resume will give job seekers more confidence as they prepare to speak to employers.”

All community members are invited to join us. Participants in the Coffee & Careers event need to register with the statewide employment marketplace, Employ Florida, and are encouraged to complete that process prior to their visit. Visit the website at www.employflorida.com. CSTB staff can also assist with Employ Florida registration at the event.
