–CareerSource Tampa Bay (CSTB) and the TechHire program are offering scholarships to students who would like to receive entry-level certification for Information Technology and Healthcare related fields.
The TechHire scholarship covers 100 percent tuition for qualified programs. The classes are accelerated programs aimed to help young people 17-29 years old in the Tampa Bay area discover and learn technology skills that are in demand by local businesses. The TechHire program offers training opportunities to young adults in high-growth industries and occupations critical to the regional economy healthcare and information technology.
Scholarship coverage includes tuition, lab and certification fees. These scholarships range from $100 to more than $3,000 depending on the program and funding availability.
Covered IT Training Programs include:
• Introduction to Python
• WordPress Fundamentals (Web Development Program)
• Java 8SE
• CIW JavaScript Specialist (Web Development Program)
• SQL
• CompTIA A+
• CompTIA Network+
• CompTIA Security+
Covered Health Care Training Programs include:
• Medical/Clinical Lab Tech
• Phlebotomy Technician
• Certified Medical Assistant
• Pharmacy Technician
• Medical Administrative Assistant
Related occupations within these industries that are H-1B eligible may be added or subtracted based on employer demand and alignment with regional and statewide economies.
Students who qualify will be contacted by a TechHire administrator who will assist in the application process.
