CareerSource Tampa Bay Offering Virtual Training Provider Fairs

~Training now available to Job Seekers in Hillsborough County~

 

TAMPA, FL – Hillsborough County residents interested in applying for grants that pay for short-term training can now get more information virtually. CareerSource Tampa Bay (CSTB) is offering Virtual Training Provider Fairs with live sessions from August 13, 2020 until October 1, 2020.

The Virtual Training Provider Fairs will provide a one-stop shop for job seekers to learn about various training they can obtain through the CARES ACT Rapid Response Recovery (R3) Program. Up to 1,000 individuals can take advantage of the Short-Term Training program. Training scholarships will provide up to $5,000 in educational assistance.

The virtual fairs will allow residents looking for short-term training to reach out directly to providers for information on approved training programs. Job seekers can also improve their marketable skills and/or enter a new career pathway.

There are currently more than 125 training programs are available. Some examples of shortterm training include:

• New Horizons Computer Learning Center, CompTIA Security+, 1-week course

• Tampa Truck Driving School, Class A CDL Training, 3-week course

• Computer Coach, Cyber Security Specialist, 15-week course

Training providers will host live information sessions. Job seekers can register to create an account and reserve their spot to attend a live session. In order to qualify for training, job seekers must be a Hillsborough County resident and economically injured due to COVID-19, 18-years of age or older, and a U.S. Citizen or authorized to work.
