Hillsborough Libraries and CSTB to Hold Employability Skills Workshop

CareerSource Tampa Bay and Hillsborough Libraries to hold Virtual Employability Skills Workshops

~New partnership to extend reach of both organizations into Hillsborough County~

 

TAMPA, FL – CareerSource Tampa Bay (CSTB) and Hillsborough County Libraries are teaming up to hold Virtual Employability Skills workshops. The virtual workshops will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. with four different employability sessions.

The workshop will feature four speakers who will hold 20-minute workshops on the various topics:

• Modern Day Job Search for Mature Workers

• Interview Preparation

• Leveling Up Your LinkedIn Profile for Job Seekers

• Navigating Employ Florida

Workshops will be presented by CSTB and the Recruiter Networking Group of Tampa Bay.

“The workshops are ideal for anyone interested in improving their jobs skills,” said CSTB Business Services Director, Dan Schneckenburger. “Workshops that sharpen people’s skills are even more important with the large amount of people looking for work in the region.”

“This partnership really shows how we are able to join together to respond to the needs of our communities and provide resources during a global pandemic and extremely challenging economic times,” said Jeffrey Huggins, Community Engagement Manager with the TampaHillsborough County Public Library. “These workshops, along with our virtual job fairs, are just part of the response to help get our citizens back to work.”

CSTB and Hillsborough County Libraries started a partnership in August 2020. The first event done jointly was the Virtual Job Fair which attracted 345 job seekers and resulted in at least 17 Hillsborough County businesses receiving applications.
