CareerSource Tampa Bay to Host a Road to Bridge Career Fair

~ Road and Bridge Construction positions are available throughout Hillsborough County ~

TAMPA, FL –CareerSource Tampa Bay (CSTB) is teaming up with the Florida Department of Transportation’s Statewide Workforce Development Program to host a road and bridge-focused hiring event for multiple companies.

The Trades and Transportation Hiring Event will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at CareerSource Tampa Bay – Tampa Center, 9215 N. Florida Ave., Tampa, FL 33612.

All job seekers interested in these career opportunities are invited to participate in the event. Employers hiring for entry-level and skilled-trade positions requiring more experience will be at the Hiring Event.

The employers participating in this job fair are looking to hire immediately and each has multiple positions they are looking to fill ranging from $15 to $35 per hour. Employers in attendance include:

Positions that these employers will be hiring for include Backhoe Operator, Bridge Carpenter, CDL Truck Drivers, Clerical, Concrete Finisher, Concrete Paver, Crane Operator, Crew Chief-Survey, Dozer Operator, Estimator, Flagger, Foreman, Grader Operator, Laborer, Mechanic, Pipe Layer, Project Operator, Roadway Foreman, Superintendent, Surveyor, Survey Assistant, Water Truck Driver, and more!

The Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) Statewide Workforce Development Program is dedicated to continuing to implement the Statewide Workforce Development Program authorized by the Florida Legislature and signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2019. The focus is to provide employment opportunities in road and bridge construction that create pathways to successful careers that improve lives. More than 1,724 people have been hired and interned by FDOT contractors through this program since July 2019 through October 2022.
