CareerSource Tampa Bay Expands Training Opportunities for Veterans
~ The Get there Faster program expands training options for Veterans and their families ~
TAMPA, FL – The Get There Faster program is expanding its occupational training opportunities to include occupations listed on the CSTB Targeted Occupations List (TOL) for adults, while still prioritizing training for the original highly targeted occupations of Aviation and Information Technology.

CareerSource Tampa Bay (CSTB), in collaboration with CareerSource Polk (CSP), received a $ 3.1 million-dollar grant in November 2021, to expand current training for the region’s Veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses, resulting in the Get There Faster program.
Veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses interested in the program and the new training opportunities can learn more and sign up for the program at: https://careersourcetampabay.com/veteran-services/get-there-faster-grant/.
We look forward to continuing to assist Veterans, transitioning service members and military spouses for the remainder of the grant term.
Since the launch in 2021, Get there Faster has assisted Veterans, Transitioning Service members and Military Spouses with occupational skills training in Information Technology and Aviation. The program is expected to help as many as 250 individuals; while focusing on upskill training, employment, and support services for the Veteran community.
“We are incredibly grateful for our Veteran’s service to this country; we will always be indebted to them and their families,” said Saleema Bennett, CSTB Director of Programs. “With the expansion of the grant, we are now able to assist more veterans and their spouses with their career pursuits.”
The grant was funded by Florida’s Department of Economic Opportunity, CareerSource Florida, and the U.S. Department of Labor.’
