Finding meaningful employment can be challenging in today’s rapidly evolving job market. With Good Jobs, CSTB is committed to bridging the gap between job seekers and employers who prioritize wages, career advancement, and employee well-being.

The Job Quality Framework, designed by CSTB, will help employers improve the quality of jobs for their prospective and existing employees. The Job Quality Framework identifies four standards for enhancing job quality and improving a worker’s overall experience, impacting the employer’s bottom line:

  • Pay and & Benefits
  • Career Training and Advancement
  • Organizational Culture and Environment
  • Employee and Family Support

CSTB plans to recognize local employers who meet Good Jobs Standards by offering the following services at no cost:

  • An Employer Good Jobs Seal on open positions listed on Employ Florida (www.employflorida.com)
  • Companies will also be listed on CSTB’s Good Jobs webpage: https://careersourcetampabay.com/job-quality-in-tampa-bay
  • Receive access as a priority employer to CSTB program funding for On-the-Job Training (OJT), Paid Work Experience (PWE), and Incumbent Worker Training (IWT).
  • Good Jobs Employer priority-seating at CSTB events with a Good Jobs Seal at their table

Statements

In a recent publication in the Business Insider, the Acting U.S. Secretary of Labor, Julie Su, talks about how she is working to build an economy full of good jobs. Su goes on to describe what she sees as a Good Job:

“It’s more than a paycheck, but about dignity and respect. It’s about a real sense of security. I think that all people want to be part of something bigger than themselves,” Su said. “So they want a job to be able to support themselves and raise their families, but they also want to feel like they’re making a contribution, that there’s a sense of purpose. And I think a good job helps to give people that sense of purpose. And that’s something we’re trying to do all across America, is make sure that working people can feel that.”

“At CareerSource Tampa Bay, our mission is to connect talent to opportunity,” said Michelle Zieziula, CSTB’s SVP and Chief Operating Officer. “As the local workforce development board, we connect job seekers to career opportunities and employers to high-potential talent. Our job quality framework helps employers attract top talent and helps job seekers identify opportunities that fit their needs.”

“We believe that everyone deserves access to good jobs that provide financial stability and support personal and professional growth,” said CSTB Business Development Manager Maria Suarez. “With CSTB Good Jobs, we aim to connect job seekers with employers who share our vision of creating a brighter future for all.”
