Young Talent of Tampa Bay offers scholarship assistance

In response to COVID-19, CareerSource Tampa Bay’s (CSTB) Young Talent of Tampa Bay program is holding live virtual informational sessions this month. The live virtual sessions will be held for graduating high school seniors and youth interested in gaining career advice, practical work experience, and other career guidance.

CareerSource Tampa Bay Currently has more than $500,000 dollars to assist recent grads and youth go back-to-school or begin a career using Paid Work Experience, On the Job
Training or Entrepreneurial Training.

“For youth that are interested in attending trade school or junior college with a paid scholarship, opportunities are still available for the fall,” says Fadhail Ibraheem, CareerSource Tampa Bay Youth Director. “We’re ready to help with this exciting program and provide a clear career path during these uncertain times.”

CareerSource Tampa Bay Young Talent of Tampa Bay offers 16 to 24-year old young adults beneficial assistance with resume writing, career coaching, job placement and more.
“It’s important that we assist those young people who have been affected by the current crisis,” says CSTB CEO John Flanagan. “We’re eager to help any young person who is still undecided about their future plans.“

Services available include:
· Career Exploration
· GED Assistance
· Employability Skills Training, Including Financial Literacy
· Career Coaching and Guidance
· Tuition Assistance
· Limited Supportive Services
· Paid Work Experience and On-the-Job Training Referrals

Some of the training programs available include graphic design, cosmetology, computer information technology, barbering, surgical technology, dental assisting, or commercial
vehicle driving to name a few. Several apprenticeships will also be available.
