CareerSource Hillsborough Pinellas Board Votes Unanimously to Adopt Name: CareerSource Tampa Bay

~ CareerSource Tampa Bay will continue to provide services for both Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties ~

TAMPA, FL – The Board of Directors for CareerSource Hillsborough Pinellas voted unanimously during the May 29, 2025, Board of Directors meeting to officially adopt CareerSource Tampa Bay as the permanent name for the workforce development organization serving Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. This decision follows the successful merger of the two former regional workforce boards on July 1, 2024, and concludes the interim use of the name CareerSource Hillsborough Pinellas.

The decision reinforces the organization’s commitment to delivering unified, streamlined services to job seekers and businesses across the entire Tampa Bay region under one recognizable and trusted brand.

“This new name marks a significant milestone in our merger journey,” said Keidrian Kunkel, CEO of CareerSource Tampa Bay.

“CareerSource Tampa Bay represents not just a name, but a united vision and mission to better serve our communities with seamless workforce solutions. We’re excited about the future and proud to continue strengthening our presence across the region under one banner.”

The board’s decision comes after nearly a year of integration work following the merger of CareerSource Tampa Bay and CareerSource Pinellas. The organization has focused on combining operations, aligning programs, and building a shared culture to better meet the needs of job seekers, employers, and community partners.

“This unanimous vote reflects the confidence and enthusiasm of our board for the future of this organization,” said Barclay Harless, Board Chair of CareerSource Tampa Bay.  “Choosing the CareerSource Tampa Bay name underscores our shared and bold commitment to economic development, and talent growth across the bay. We will be measured in this success by our outcomes in both counties.”

The organization will begin rolling out updated branding and materials reflecting the CareerSource Tampa Bay name over the coming weeks.
