Individuals who have applied for SNAP benefits and have been deemed an Able Bodied Adults without Dependents (ABAWD) by the Department of Children and Families (DCF) are referred to CareerSource Tampa Bay for participation in the SNAP E&T program. Participation includes 80 hours a month (average 20 hours per week) of activities to include: employment, job search/job search training, vocational training/education, and work experience. Activities are designed to meet the needs of participants in gaining skills, training, and experience that will increase their ability to obtain self-sufficiency.
If you feel that you have been referred to in error, please notify DCF immediately by calling 850-400-4323. We strongly encourage you to complete steps 1-3 to learn about the program, remain in compliance, and avoid the loss of food assistance benefits should DCF maintain your ABAWD status.
